To recover and get "lost" superior picture of Mount Vernon, I scan my old family slides and needed something that would establish that faded. I also wanted enough resolution for sharpness and contrast of Kodachrome capture. The inexpensive scanner that I had was the picture taken with a Leica like snapshots from a Brownie to make. The results from Plustek is sometimes unbelievable. The resolution is very high. But it's the software that really makes this special scanner. Overexposed, underexposed, and the images have faded with time, such as Ektachrome, Anscochrome or non-processing of Kodak, can reasonably be restored. The program is intuitive and the learning curve is short and easy for me. I have some experience in photo editing. Like a photo editing, it takes 30 to 10 minutes to accurately re-create a bad image. I was impressed by their ability to remove stains and scratches, this scanner was worth every penny I paid for it. The main drawback is having to take the trays slide carousel and inserting into the holder 4 at a time and wait for each scan. You need a "battery charger" and automatically slides. 26 of 26 people found this review helpful. Excellent for what I needed from Jack waited a long time to buy a slide scanner 35mm. I know very little about photography, but no love technology. My father, long deceased, was an avid photo errors and believe that only 35 mm slides. Meticulously cataloged all the pictures he took. As a gift to my mother, I agreed to digitize its collection, but did not want to go with a commercial digital lab, because I wanted the pleasure of going through every picture. Yes, a 400-page manual that I have not read it yet, but plan on time. I saw it very helpful Quicktime videos to accompany each of the basic functions, like I did (I have the SE version, not Ai) and they have the job I have a Macbook Pro last. After one day of the game with a couple of test slides, I dived in and started working with my dad slide. I am very pleased with iSRD function on auto impressed setting (which is the dust and scratch removal function of the SilverFast software). I've tried to fiddle with manual settings of iSRD, but could not get any better results than the automatic iSRD. Maybe if I read the manual that I will understand better. Over three days I have only about 100 movies between December 1968 and March 1969 (just a drop in the bucket for my entire project!) Processed Incorporated. Although not perfect, was the difference between the original image and the digital image post-production (set at 600 dpi) is notable for an automated software. I have not done anything impressions, but not ones that I ended up burning a DVD and play them as a slideshow for my mother, his expressions were worth the price. The only difficulty I experienced with a few clicks night. Where a person has been the subject of the photo and the background must be black, the subject of the digitized photograph very well, but often the black background scanning in red. I tried fixing the color correction, but also changed the tone of the subject. Overall it was a little inconvenient for me and probably could be better managed by those who are more familiar with the software or photography. Disadvantages: Quiet, Excellent auto functions in the software, simply start to Less: At more serious user manual feed 4-valve can be annoying (for me it is no problem) I understand that it's only 35mm reads (again this is) what I wanted so it's not a problem for me, the buttons or IntelliScan quick scan on the scanner to use even if you use a Mac - PC is part of these only 34 of 36 customers found this review helpful. Film scanner easily pghqa I was scanning my 35mm slides using a borrowed scanner of another brand. I just had.
