Praise and easily accessible, but mixed by DM Morris, I worked in the film industry for over 20 years, and helped develop technology to scan negative / digital movies to convert. For this price and convenience, the scanner ImageLab FS5CO5 is a good choice for home conversions with quality slide. It is not without some shortcomings set ... Scanning slides on my flatbed scanner lit a slow and tedious, especially since they had to be loaded one by one, and it took a few minutes to calibrate and scan. That was good for a number of slides, but not when running poles and piles. I have been looking for something quick and easy that my parents could use to import our thousands of family photos on your computer. I had searched for this hand-held "scanner" for, and the high prices and lack of quality has always prevented me from jumping into one. There are also scanners that can scan multiple images, and they are automated, but also cost much more, there are some very nice design elements to the scanner FS5CO5 Imagelab to put it over the other quick-shot scans. Its' design is clean and self explanatory. The functions are clearly labeled. There is a button push, and a button for negative film. It also has a very useful screen "live" as you can see what is positioned and ready to scan. It is very fast, and although the scans come out very contrasty, with a few quick adjustments in iPhoto produces very good results, considering the speed and simplicity. If you do not have iPhoto or some basic knowledge to adjust the image in another program, you can not be satisfied with the images that come directly from the scanner. Some of my slides produced off tall, black ink black shadows, and before I switched them on your computer. If you have iPhoto, you can load Scan-lit shadows and reduce highlights the rapid and massive improvement in some of the benefits ImageLab scanner. -5 Mp images. If the image is sharp, it is enough megapixels for cropping and size expansion. SD cards. I love this feature. I have a Mac, and many will only computer hardware and software for a PC. With simple using an SD memory card into the scanner ImageLab FS5CO5, I can upload scans of my computer as easily as I upload my photo camera. It also makes it highly portable, scanning slides when you're on a trip or visit a relative. Quick-scan. Platforms often take several minutes to scan a slide. This gives the best result, but if you do, hundreds and hundreds of pages, it can take forever. This is so quick, like a camera. Push / click / done. Technically speaking, this is one camera and no scanner, why it works so quickly. The camera only needs a close-up image of the film. It's never as good as the slow version, but you can save time efforts received special feeling of solidity. Beautiful building. Seems sustainable. It does not have that "cheap plastic" feel. Trays slide easily install in place inside the scanner. Once loaded, the trays simply slide and click into place. -Good price. However ... Some of the weaknesses of Imagelab FS5CO5 scanner. Slide trays are not as well designed as they could be. They have a very low "footprint" of the position of each load of slides. Comparison with the depth of the drawer closed, the frame could be twice as deep, which would have made it much easier to drop the slides into place. As it is, you have to gently push the slide in place before you close the lid on the set of slides. This can not be a problem when you make a couple of slides, but when you try to get through a lot of slides, it becomes increasingly annoying. The trays 35 mm negatives are very different. The standard 35mm negative, which I tried to scan would not fit within the guides 35mm negative that I had tried.
