I wanted to scan it for him for a Christmas gift. I checked in services that do this professionally, and took it out of my price range that I want to scan literally about 700 to 900 I. The next step was to develop a scanner to find it to do it myself. The best (Nikon w / Digital ICE) also out of my price range. So I landed on the Slide2PC ion. I thought it would at least get them in "seeing" quality. In 5megapixels in a good decent resolution? I also had a rocket blaster and a master-static for cleaning the blades before each hand and cleaned before you start with a breath of fresh air and a static master brush. I have the slide2pc to the highest setting and went to work. While they are not Nikon quality, I must say I am impressed with the outcome. I wish I could change the lighting a little 'for the most exposed and out in a bit' better, but with a little photo shop magic, I'm not able to adjust the print quality up to most are - not not perfection that the lines t Aren 'clear as perhaps they would with a more expensive scanners, but many seem excellent. I was really patient. I gave them 5 seconds to affect the white balance between the snapshot and transfer. and while I did. tiff so you can modify each, if necessary. MRG General For decent performance I've used this to convert the slides for my parents in 1500. Once I got up the learning curve, I could average 70 per hour. You need to brush up on each slide or you will be unhappy because each grain to show. If there is a way to adjust the amount of background light, the results would be better, but I suspect it will feature the next generation of these things when the slides of the original lighting was "perfect" digital version was excellent, the slides were light image disappeared and the slides were dark all I got was a dark spot. Fortunately, most of the slides of my parents were well and got excellent results and was able to make copies for my brothers and create a slide show of my parents in their new team. It is difficult to find a service that will scan negatives of anything like a reasonable rate. Online tutorials about scanning negatives I read all said that hundreds of dollars decent negative scans cost and time in use. So when I ION Slides 2 PC scanner started, I expect it to another piece of cyber junk cluttering my desk, I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. It is very easy to install and use. It takes up little space. If you are looking for something that is of professional quality, go ahead and keep looking.
