It's designed to be used right out of the box by simply plugging it into an AC outlet, OR USB port, OR even with AAA alkaline batteries. Slide scanner experience By D Fortier Took about an hour to figure out and make it work with MAC, but image results is good once you get it slides carrier need to be pushed manually, so image capture precision might vary. DIFFICULT TO OPEN AND THE DEPRESSIONS FOR SLIDES ARE TO LOW TO HOLD SLIDE SECURELY WHEN CLOSING...BUT.. WORSE YET IS: 1) SCANNING "STANDARD" 2" X 2" POSITIVE 35MM SLIDES IT SHRINKS THE WIDTH ABOUT 10% AND YOU HAVE TO GO INTO SOFTWARE AND RESTORE THE WIDTH....WHICH CAUSES YOU TO LOSE ABOUT 1/2 THE RESOLUTION. 2) WHEN TRYING TO GET HELP FROM SVP ABOUT THIS PROBLEM YOU JUST GET IGNORED 0 of 3 people found the following review helpful.
